Let me guide you through the possibilities of experiencing this legendary landmark.
The Burj Al Arab, Arabic for "Tower of the Arabs," is an iconic luxury hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, recognised for its distinctive sail-shaped design.
Conceived by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, its construction began in 1994 with the ambitious goal of creating a global icon that would put Dubai on the international map. Designed by British architect Tom Wright of WS Atkins, the structure is meant to resemble the billowing sail of a traditional Arabian dhow.
Built on its own artificial island 280 meters offshore, the hotel opened its doors in December 1999. It quickly gained a reputation for unparalleled luxury, with some journalists unofficially dubbing it the "world's first seven-star hotel" due to its opulent interiors, all-suite accommodations, and highly personalised service. The hotel's helipad, located high on the building, has also become famous for hosting various high-profile events.
